Alone in a crib

The biggest need of babies -- OTHERS

But, the relationship between the mother and infant has not ended at birth. They still have to work together for a while so that the infant will live.

In our culture we think and act as though a newborn is an individual -- a separate being. If a birth takes place in hospital, the baby is often kept in a separate place from a mother in a hospital nursery. When the baby is taken home, it is often placed in a crib in a room of its own.
