More midwives are being trained and licensed in North America

In North America a much larger number of mothers and babies are seen by special doctors. In addition, the regular family doctor as well as nurses deal with the mother and baby. This is often not necessary when there are well-trained midwives. In many parts of North America many more midwives are now being trained and licensed.
